Vlasta and Hrvoje in Nazare, Portugal
Seniorglobetrotters are Vlasta and Hrvoje, living in Croatia, Europe. A married elderly couple with two grown-up children. Both are professional architects but are now retired. We love to travel, explore the countries, culture, architecture, history, nature…
With two children and lots of work, we also tried to travel as much as possible. At first, we travelled as a family, but later on, we started travelling the two of us. We adapted the journey to our age and physical condition, along with limited budgets.
Experiences
We went to explore Portugal in 9 days in 2019. That trip inspired us to start our blog and website, sharing the way we organise travelling for ourselves and our impressions of the places we visit.
The very next year, our plans were stopped by the pandemic, and we did not want to risk our health. But since the vaccines were approved, we were able to travel again. The summer we always spend on the Croatian coast, namely on the island of Korcula. The spring and fall are our chosen times for exploring new places.
In 2021. our first trip was to Milan and Lake Como. Next year we went to Barcelona and Malta. In 2023. we visited Ireland, London and Istanbul. And in 2024. we made a fantastic tour of Morocco.
mission
Travelling for many years in our organisation we gathered experience we want to share with you.
The experience is that it is not difficult and expensive to do it yourself. As an alternative to overpriced arrangements from travel agencies.
We use our methods of planning to adjust the wishes to the resources.
On our blog, we share many how-to planning a trip by yourself. And practical information about the destinations we visit.
planner and photographer
My free time occupation and passion were organising travelling time, together with calculating finance, and harmonising interests for the four of us. Taking photos along the way is another. Now those passions have become my prime occupations, with blogging as a new one.
The passion for making photographs on our journeys is visible on the blog, as all the photos are only mine. Also, we have an Instagram profile @seniorglobetrotters where you can see many more photos and videos taken in different locations.
